In popular media and culture, the Beach has acted as a metaphorical and literal space of queer platonic and romantic intimacy. It’s a place where bodily expression is the norm, a place where heteronormativity is continuously broken down. The beach is inherently queer.

“BEACH: a digital exhibition” is a digital shoreline, a waterfront where queer works of art and literature are carried to the shore by waves, or lost in the dunes after a long day. In its primarily web-based format, the beach will be able to act as a constantly evolving and fluid gallery space.
