I find the shapes made by the waves that kiss the shore and clouds that frame a glittering sun utterly fascinating.

As a regular beach runner, I am always in motion during our sunsets — however, sometimes the incredible view pleads with me to slow down. Moments flash by so fast, I am forced to pause in awe and wonder…

Since I am usually running while the sky puts on an incredible show, my iPhone is often my weapon of choice where I attempt to capture the incredible beauty of the moment.

In this photo, I see jewels being poured on the beach while the sky glitters from their magnificent display. This beauty will only happen for a few seconds before the sun dips below the horizon. I quickly frame the shot as best as possible and wildly compose photograph after photograph hoping at least one will truly capture the feeling of this brief moment in time while I listen to the music of the ocean.

Eventually, the sun sets, the jewels disappear, and I am forced to make my way to my car and hope the next day will bring a new masterpiece to behold.

I never get tired of this kind of photo. They ignite my imagination, reminding me of magic, wonder, and my childish love of all things that sparkle.
